Looking like a real room... just in time

The team showed up today and finished putting up roof on the room that will be part of the house....

Above: Interesting how they matched the roof line of the old section of the roof from the original porch (90% of which was cut away a week or so ago).

Just in time got the tar paper down, since 60% chance of rain tonight and tomorrow...

Below: View from inside looking out - will be keeping as much volume to ceiling as possible...  will be having foam insulation sprayed between roof supports and across rest of the existing house... should greatly increase the insulation value of the house.

Below: Looking at wall which will shortly disappear from small window right to the sliding door.  The area above the existing roof line will be a vertical wall with a shelf running full length above for Fran and decorations, etc.  When wall removed will be able to see front door from this spot... will be interesting to see how they remove the main beam across the former rear supporting wall of the original house ?

Below: Took them better part of an hour (with a false start) to figure out how to start to frame roof in what will screened lanai... took the original people who did the birdcage about the same time to work out the angles 8 years ago.  Builders don't like 45 degree turns in their roof lines <grin> ...

Should be a roof over the lanai by end of tomorrow, depending on the weather.... after that, pretty much an inside job.. .yippee.
